BI Intelligence, Business Insider’s premium research services, estimates that global manufacturers will invest $70 billion on IoT solutions by 2020. That’s up by more than 50% from 2015. They expect the installed base of manufacturing IoT devices to grow from 237 million in 2015 to 923 million in 2020.
According to Gartner, spending on IoT security is expected to reach $547 million in 2018. According to IoT Analytics‘ IoT Platforms: Market Report 2015-2021 (v Jan 2016) the United States Is the biggest single-country in the IoT platform market worldwide with a $73M market size for 2015, and is expected to remain in top position for 2021 with $469M, followed by China ($180M), Germany ($136M), Japan ($127M) and Korea ($118M).
Statista estimates the value of the global smart home market will reach almost $60 billion by 2020. That’s up from $20 billion in 2014.
